Execute your plan for building a dog house

Design your dog house layout in a paper. Then follow the instructions of the process.

Prepare to cut wood for the dog house floor

Cut 10 piece long wood your floor —

•  4 piece 6”-2” long wood for floor legs
•  2 piece 24”-1” long wood for platform side frames
•  2 piece 20”-1” long wood for front & back platform frames
•  2 piece 24”-10” wood board for floor base

Assemble the floor frame & base

Joined the 24”-1” & 20”-1”long piece at the edge corner periodically and make a rectangular frame.4 piece 6” legs kneeling at the inner edge of the four corners of the chassis.2 piece 24”-10” wood board nailing each other to form the floor base.


Put a floor panel on the chassis and carefully sees that it is properly fixed on floor frame.Then nail the wood slide to the floor.Polish the frame and floor with sand paper & table saw that it is properly ready for your pet home floor platform.

To make the upper frame of dog house

• Cut 18”-1” long wood 4 part
• 24”-1" long 2 piece wood
• 20”-1” long 2 piece
• 8”-1`” long 4 piece

Building the Doghouse

Cut 6 piece wood planks for your dog house side and front wall and ceiling.

• 2 piece 12”-9” wood plank for side wall
• 2 piece 10”-14” wood plank for the front & back wall
• 2 piece 10”-24” wood plank for roof

Furnishing your dog house

24”-1” 2piece, 20”-1”2piece long wood stick joined each other as it is done floor frame making.
18”-1” 4 piece long wood nailing vertically with the floor frame separately.Join the other frame which is made as like floor frame,with the vertically stand .

Separately joined the 2piece 8”-1” long wood stick which is fixed to frame .These two frame nails to the dog house front & back side roof2 piece 12”-9” wood plank nailed each other and made 432 sq. inch or 36 sq. ft. Wood board. Similarly nailed the other board. Joined this two plank with the dog house side frame .4piece 10”-14” wood plank nailed 2 piece separately and make 2 piece 20”-28” wood board. Nailed one  board to the dog house  back frame. A door is being cut at other wood plank and fix it to the dog house front wall frame.

Two open spaces are found under the roof panel is the front & back side. Measure the open space and the measurement draw in a plywood panel. Cut the board and joined to open space.
Spread over the whole roof with 15 lb asphalt-impregnated roofing paper. It's an extra layer which prevents your dog from unexpected water or rain water. Even that this layer helps to protect your dog from heat by reflecting extra heat. Staple this roofing paper with a hammer stapler or electric stapler or using ¾” galvanized staples.

Lastly,paint the dog house with a low-VOC  paint . A name plate and a piece of scrap carpeting on the dog house floor that is helping the puppy stay warm and comfy.

NOTICE:All these wood panels & long wooden piece properly polished before joining.After roofing carefully see the under roof panel that no nail heads protrude, which made your dog hurt. Trim the edges of the roof panels with utility knife.
